For Heights Arts’ New Exhibition, “Materialized,” Artists and Poets Speak: Thursday, February 15, 2018

HeightsArts3On Friday, January 19, 2018, Heights Arts opens Materialized: Seven Artists Working in Metal, a new art installation and on Thursday, February 15, Heights Arts will continue its related gallery talks in support of their exhibitions with Ekphrastacy: Artists Talk + Poets Respond. “Ekphrastacy” is a series of talks where exhibition artists share methods of their work process and much more; it is also where local poets perform new works created in response to selected works in the exhibition–to wit a vivid, dramatic, verbal description of a visual work of art.

EXHIBITIONMaterialized: Seven Artists Working in Metal |Opening Reception Friday, January 19, 2018, 6-9 p.m. | Heights Arts This exhibition brings together artists David L. Deming, Mark Hartung, Matthew Hollern, Jacquie Wynn Kennedy, Seth Nagelberg, and Stephen Yusko. According to exhibition curator Pamela Argentieri, “Northeast Ohio has a long tradition of sculptors, blacksmiths, silversmiths and designers working in metal. This community and its institutions continue to support the careers and education of its artists.” Materialized will be installed through March 4, 2018.

GALLERY TALKEkphrastacy: Artists Talk + Poets Respond, Thursday, February 15, 2018, 7:00 p.m. | Heights Arts Cleveland Heights Poet Laureate Christine Howey has invited Katie Daley, Daniel Gray-Kontar, Phil Metres, and Cindy Washabaugh, to create new works in response to art on view.
