Since his appointment, Lucas has traveled across the state encouraging Ohioans to broaden our understanding and appreciation of poetry. In a January 12 interview with Case Western Reserve University’s The Daily, Lucas said that he wants to help “de-mystify” poetry, that it is “so much more” than what we were told to read in middle school. Lucas will talk about why poetry matters and how it makes us human.
