Born in Omaha, Nebraska, Dan Chaon is the acclaimed author of the novels Ill Will (2017), Await Your Reply (2009) You Remind Me of Me (2004) and the short story collections Fitting Ends (1996), Among the Missing (2001) and Stay Awake (2012). Among the Missing was a finalist for the 2001 National Book Award and was also listed as one of the ten best books of the year by the American Library Association, Chicago TribuneThe Boston Globe, and Entertainment Weekly.  Chaon’s fiction has appeared in numerous journals and anthologies, and he has won both Pushcart and O. Henry awards. Chaon lives in Ohio and teaches at Oberlin College.

Individual artist grantee, Illinois Arts Council, 1988; Raymond Carver Memorial Award, Syracuse University, 1989; individual artist grantee, Ohio Arts Council, 1995; Fiction award, Chilcote Foundation, 1997; A.B. Guthrie, Jr. Short Fiction Award, 1997-98; Notable Book Award, American Library Association, and National Book Award nominee, both in 2001, for Among the Missing.
