Since his appointment, Lucas has traveled across the state encouraging Ohioans to broaden our understanding and appreciation of poetry. In a January 12 interview with Case Western Reserve University’s The Daily, Lucas said that he wants to help “de-mystify” poetry, that it is “so much more” than what we were told to read in middle school. Lucas will talk about why poetry matters and how it makes us human. The City Club of Cleveland is located at 850 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44114. Tickets for this event may be purchased on their website.
