Today is the start of the twice-yearly #1lib1ref initiative from the Wikimedia Foundation running May 15 to June 5. The goal is to Imagine a World where Every Librarian Added One More Reference to Wikipedia. We at the Ohio Center for Book are encouraging people to add “one more reference” to an article highlighting an Ohio author. You can find lists of Ohio authors at:
- Our Ohio Authors page
- The Ohioana Library website
- The Wikipedia category of Writers from Ohio
- Or simply your favorite Ohio writer!
Some authors already have Wikipedia pages, others don’t. If you’re a regular Wikipedian, we are also encouraging you to write an article on an Ohio author that is missing from the online encyclopedia.
