On Saturday, August 24, the Ohio Center for the Book will once again be participating in the National Book Festival in Washington, DC, along our colleagues at all the affiliate Centers for the Book across the country! You’ll find us in the Roadmap to Reading area of the Festival at the Washington Convention Center.
Meet Our Great Reads Authors at the National Book Festival!
We’re pleased to announce that we’ll be joined by three of our Great Reads from Great Places authors this year! Stop by for a chat and an autograph!
Chiquita Mullins Lee & Carmella Van Vleet
11 am to 1pm
Meet the co-authors of You Gotta Meet Mr. Pierce who will be signing books, sharing information about folk artist Elijah Pierce, and having conversations with Festival attendees.
Timothy G. Anderson
2 pm to 4 pm
Meet Dr. Anderson (Associate Professor of Geography, Ohio University), one of the co-editors of Settling Ohio: First Peoples and Beyond, who will be signing books, sharing information about the cultural migrations that made Ohio into the state we know today, and answering questions about Ohio history.
We also want to remind those attending the National Book Festival that copies of both You Gotta Meet Mr. Pierce and Settling Ohio will be available for purchase on-site from Politics & Prose at the National Book Festival!
