Do you have dreams of being a stand-up comedian? Have you ever wondered how professional comedians and comedy writers create their material? Have you been told you are funny and want to learn how to take your humor on stage? Are you curious about what it’s like working in the comedy industry?
In collaboration with the Cleveland Comedy Festival, the Ohio Center for the Book is presenting three workshops hosted by Dave Schwensen on writing, performing, and the business of comedy.
The workshop sessions will be held at Cleveland Public Library’s historic downtown Main Library from 3:00pm to 5:00pm on:
- Saturday, August 9 – Writing Stand-up Comedy
- Saturday, October 18 – Performing Stand-up Comedy
- Saturday, December 13 – The Serious Business of Stand-up Comedy
Dave Schwensen (literally) wrote the book(s) on how to break into comedy and has served as Talent Coordinator for talent showcases and auditions for major television shows, networks and film studios, including The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Night with David Letterman, The Today Show, Disney, Paramount, MTV, VH-1, all the major networks, and more. He shares his extensive experience in workshops and seminars across the country, and attendees will have the chance to learn from the best.
