Hey kids! Do you think you’re funny? Does everyone at school laugh at your jokes? This is your chance to turn your humor into a real stand-up comedy act.
In partnership with the Cleveland Comedy Festival, we’ll be hosting their Class Clown Workshop this fall.
This four-week workshop is for teens ages 12-18 and will be taught by taught by professional comedian Rob Coleman.
Participants will learn:
- how to discover their comedic voice by developing original jokes
- how to refine their comedic timing
- how to gain confidence going on stage
- as well as how to explore different comedic styles and personas.
- It’s also a great way to improve public speaking and memorization skills.
The workshops conclude with a live Graduation Showcase for a chance to perform for your friends, family, and fans of comedy.
The workshop sessions will be held at Cleveland Public Library’s Carnegie West location at 1900 Fulton Road in Cleveland on:
- Wednesday, September 10 – 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm
- Wednesday, September 17 – 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm
- Wednesday, September 24 – 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm
- Wednesday, October 1 – 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm
The Graduation Showcase is on Saturday, October 4 at 4:00 pm. This is free for anyone to attend!

Rob Coleman is a highly versatile comedian with over a decade of experience entertaining audiences, becoming one of Cleveland’s most beloved comics. He has won multiple wins in prestigious comedy contests and his talent caught the attention of esteemed comedy veterans like Martini Harris, Black Coffee, and Rudy Rae Moore, the starring actor of the legendary Dolemite films. He is a regular host at the Funny Bone Comedy Club and Restaurant (formerly the Cleveland Improv) and is a sought-after emcee throughout the city.
